Brian J. Stagg
Brian J. Stagg, CPA is a Director in the Postlethwaite & Netterville Tax Services Group. Brian joined the firm in 1971 and became a partner in 1976.
Brian has worked with tax compliance and tax planning for the insurance industry in excess of 18 years. He has provided tax planning advice and compliance services to property and casualty insurers, life insurance insurers, and insurance agencies. Entities have included corporations, self insurance funds and reciprocal insurers.
Brian has developed considerable knowledge regarding corporate taxation, individual taxation, partnership taxation, consolidated returns and real estate taxation. He assists his clients with planned and actual corporate business decisions. These areas include financial projections, valuation reviews, financial statement interpretation, budgeting, document analysis, acquisitions and sale planning. Additionally, he also assists clients with decisions in structuring business ventures in appropriate legal entities. His involvement in this area, from the analysis, structuring and operational viewpoints, has been invaluable to his clients.
In addition, Brian has developed a continuing practice for litigation services. Engaged by both firm clients and area attorneys for their clients, he has provided testimony and other litigation services by being recognized as an expert in the fields of accounting and taxation. Litigation subject matter has included damage awards, corporate transactions, business fraud and taxation issues.
