Melissa Peroyea
Melissa Peroyea, CPA is an Associate Director in the Postlethwaite & Netterville Accounting and Assurance Services Group. Missy joined P&N in 1999 to serve as the Project Director for the Department of Health & Hospitals (DHH) long term care audit contract. She also worked on the prior contract that began in 1996.
Missy’s responsibilities include day-to-day operations of the project, communications with DHH and ensuring the completion of all contract responsibilities by other team members. During the past ten years, she has reviewed each report issued and prepared and participated in training sessions for DHH project team staff and providers. She has researched a wide variety of cost report issues and provided special reports as requested by DHH management. She has consulted with the DHH Secretary on Medicare issues related to Medicaid cost reporting. Missy has attended monthly meetings with DHH and other ad hoc meetings with DHH personnel and providers.
Additionally, Missy has audit experience serving health care clients, including hospitals, nursing homes, and physician practices. In this capacity, she has directed the fieldwork for the engagements, reviewed the working papers and prepared and reviewed Medicare/Medicaid cost reports. She has participated in numerous consulting projects including due diligence assistance with mergers and acquisitions, assistance with tax-exempt bond offerings, Medicare cost-report training and analysis of Medicare SNF units, as well as a variety of accounting assistance projects.
