Employee Benefit Plan
P&N has been auditing benefit plans for over 40 years and consider them a core element of our external audit practice. We audit over 100 benefit plans and are familiar with the requirements of the Department of Labor and understand the unique requirements of benefit plans. The plans we audit range in size from $150,000 up to $8 billion in net assets and over 137,000 participants. Many of those plans are 401(K) plans, defined benefit plans, as well as health and welfare plans, all varying in complexity. In addition, as a sign of our commitment to quality audits, we are a member of three audit quality centers: the Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center (EBP Center), the Center for Audit Quality, and the Governmental Audit Quality Center (GAQC). Membership in these audit quality centers is important to the firm and supports our commitment to the profession in the efforts to improve audit quality.
The Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center is a firm-based voluntary membership center for firms that audit employee benefit plans, including pension, health and welfare, and 401(k) plans subject to the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) under the regulatory authority of the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL).
Our firm is committed to ensuring that our audit personnel are well trained to deliver employee benefit audit services. Further, our Center membership dictates that we document a program that consists of on-the-job training and minimum CPE requirements for all personnel conducting employee benefit plan audits to ensure that they stay current on the applicable professional standards, rules, and regulations for ERISA employee benefit plan audits. This translates into a highly competent team of auditors who are knowledgeable in the unique requirements of quality employee benefits plan auditing and ensures that we deliver the reliable, accurate information you need to prepare your plan’s summary annual report and confidently manage your plan.
