Financial institutions today face enormous pressure from both internal and external forces. Increased regulation, economic issues, competition, technology, security, and risk are all issues that our financial institutions clients are facing. With more than 50 financial institutions as clients, we believe that P&N’s Financial Institutions Group is able to offer a combination of resources and experience that is unmatched in our area.
For more than 30 years, P&N has provided professional services to financial institutions. We have experience serving Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) registrants as well as community banks and mutual/stock organizations. Our clients have included national, state, and savings banks and other financial institutions, ranging in size from $12 million to over $975 million in assets.
The P&N Financial Institutions Group has assisted with accounting and audit issues as well as strategic planning issues for our clients. Our role as a business advisor is to provide the resources clients need to make better decisions. Whether clients need assistance with technology, internal audit, or mergers, we have the resources and experience available to assist. We are proud of our experience serving the following types of financial institutions.
P&N’s Financial Institutions Group is comprised of professionals with extensive bank experience and training. Our commitment to the industry and our clients is exemplified by our membership in the American Bankers Association (ABA) and the Louisiana Bankers Association (LBA), which provides us with up to date information on developments in the industry. Our professionals also attend specialized training courses for financial institutions, including attending seminars held by the LBA, the LCPA Financial Institutions Conference, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, including the AICPA National Banking School.
As part of our role as a leader in offering services to banking clients, we have developed relationships with regulators and other banking associations and departments. In addition to one-on-one communications, we have conducted roundtables with the regulators to discuss the challenges that our clients face and learn more about their key concerns and issues, discuss hot topics, and ask questions. We understand the challenges facing banks today and how they relate to regulations and audit risk.
While similar to other financial institutions is many ways, credit unions also face their own set of unique challenges. Our experience working with credit unions throughout Louisiana, as well as our involvement with the Louisiana Credit Union League (LCUL), provides us with insight into the issues our clients are facing. We also understand that many credit unions do not have the resources available to maintain a fully staffed internal audit department. P&N’s Financial Institutions Group assists clients in supplementing or developing their internal audit function to meet the needs of management, Supervisory Committee, and regulators.
P&N’s Consumer Finance Group has experience providing audit and tax services to consumer finance organizations across the Gulf South. In addition to audit and tax services, our team of consultants and technology professionals serve as a resource for our clients, including fraud detection and prevention. We have specific experience in identifying fraud in consumer finance branch operations.
Our professionals are also active in the industry through their involvement in the American Financial Services Association (AFSA), the Louisiana Finance Association (LFA), and the TFC.
