SOX Requirements

In response to the collapse of a handful of high-profile public companies in the early 2000s due to accounting issues, the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) requires all public companies to formalize and document internal controls over financial reporting. P&N has assisted organizations in meeting SOX requirements since the act was passed, and continues to serve clients of all sizes in completing SOX services.

Our Approach

The P&N team is familiar with the SOX Act and can guide your organization in helping fulfill SOX requirements, ranging from drafting disclosure checklists to answering GAAP questions. Although SOX is directed at public companies, P&N's team has also provided SOX services to private companies seeking to improve their internal controls.

P&N's services related to SOX include:

  • Risk assessments: P&N's team considers risk management from multiple perspectives, including customer satisfaction, operational, financial, security, and regulatory.
  • Evaluations and documentation of controls: In line with SOX requirements, the P&N team can provide an objective, accurate, and detailed evaluation and documentation of your organization's financial controls.
  • Testing of internal controls: We go beyond simple evaluation by testing an organization's financial control systems to identify strengths and weaknesses.
