Scotty Amos has more than 20 years of experience serving the needs of multi-state taxpayers, specializing in the areas of multi-state tax and regulatory compliance, planning, and client advocacy for the firm’s diverse clientele, including sales and transactions taxes, regulatory compliance, and property taxes.

Scotty serves a broad clientele ranging from local and regional businesses operating in the retail, professional services, hospitality, entertainment, oil & gas, energy, and manufacturing industries to nationally recognized communications service providers and online retailers. Scotty’s primary focus is multistate tax sales and transactions tax and regulatory surcharge planning and compliance. His team’s responsibilities include preparation and review of federal, state and local tax nexus determinations, taxability reviews, compliance (including sales and transactions taxes, regulatory, secretary of state, and property taxes), audit management, tax mitigation and consulting services.

Prior to joining P&N, Scotty was a national practice leader in a KPMG's National Communications Tax Practice. While with KPMG, his primary responsibilities included the development and implementation of multi-state tax planning solutions and the reduction of tax exposure – income/franchise, sales and transactions, and property taxes. He was also instrumental in the firm's Sarbanes-Oxley policy development, documentation and related internal control testing procedures and best practices from both the internal and external auditor’s perspective. Scotty won multiple KPMG innovation awards for creative new ideas and tax solutions.
