Louisiana’s Division of Administration will begin accepting reimbursement applications on July 1, 2020, to administer the second round of the state’s $511 million in CARES Act Coronavirus Relief Funds. This second round of funding will cover eligible expenditures related to the COVID-19 pandemic for the period May 1 – June 30, 2020; the application period for the second round ends July 15, 2020.

During the first round, Louisiana governments submitted approximately $160 million in claims for such things as public safety payroll costs, medical and safety supplies, and sanitation services. In order to make the most of funding available to local governments, it is critical for your organization to act quickly and submit your application for the second round of funding.

Expenses incurred but not submitted during the first funding round may be submitted during a subsequent period; therefore, if your organization incurred expenses during the period March 1 – April 30, 2020 but missed the June 15th reimbursement application deadline for the first round, you may still be able to claim those expenses when the second application period opens July 1st.
